Either Haikasoru’s licensing of Loups-Garous was highly felicitous or they had an inside line on the news that Loups-Garous is being adapted into an anime film to be released in 2010. Bandai Visual, Kitty, Kinoshita Koumuten, Dentsu, and Mixi are co-producing the film which will be animated by Project I.G. and Transarts.

Reader kelakagandy has alerted us to the fact that Haikasoru will also be releasing The Stories of Ibis by Hiroshi Yamamoto in March 2010. This title also sounds really interesting. Here’s the description from the Simon & Schuster site:
In a world where humans a minority and androids have created their own civilization, a [...]

Otsuichi’s horror story collection, Zoo, is out in stores as is Usurper of the Sun by Housuke Nogiri. Haikasoru will be releasing Slum Online by Hiroshi Sakurazaka (All You Need is [...]
Many apologies for this very, very, very late update (lots of distracting real life nonsense going on). But as two readers in our last post already pointed out (Thank you Anna and kelakagandy!!!), Tokyopop will continue releasing the Twelve Kingdoms novels in English.

Much like how on Top Chef bacon will almost always be a winning ingredient, BL, vampires, and Hideyuki Kikuchi will never steer publishers wrong in the world of translated Japanese light novels! So it should come as no surprise to readers that they’re both vampire books. [...]
ANN reports that Digital Manga Publishing will be releasing more BL novels under their DokiDoki and Juné imprints.

I know the Yukikaze novel news broke back in March when I was out of the country, but the Amazon U.S. listing is up with a description and release date (January 10, 2010, the same day as The Book of Heroes though Amazon lists them as January 19, 2010 and October 20, 2009 respectively) and [...]
Anime-Expo is going on right now and of course there are a few new announcements. (Links go to ANN write-ups. If anyone has any company news releases with additional info, I’ll update them.)
So far there’s not much on the actual light novel front, except for Bandai announcing the release of Code Geass novels [...]
